CHEAP BOND ISSUE

U.s. TREASURY OFFER i Rec. 9.10 p.m. Washington, Sept.- 24. The Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. H. L. Morgenthau, to-day announced a treasury offer of the cheapest bond issue in the nation's history to holders of 737,000,000 dollars' worth of lj per cent. treasury notes maturing on December J 15, namely bonds bearing two per cent. intcrest which mature in 12^ to 14.? years. He raid that two per cent. bonds had been issued previously, but never for such long maturity.
