WASHINGTON COMMENTS Rec. 10.35 p.m. Washington, Sept. 24. Goveropient officials commented anonymously on the British action at Dakar. They said they were pleased Britain had attacked Dakar in an effort to establish a de Gaulle regime. because Dakar is regarded as the most likely point from which the Nazis would invade South America. They added that it was a tragedy of fate that France should be sipfiultaneously fighting Britain at Dakar and Japan in Indo-China.
