PROBLEM SETTLED
SCHOOL HOUSE SITE CONFERENCE AT PATEA COMMITTEE TO CONTINUE The Patea school committee, which recently resigned over the questicn of a site for the erection of a new house for the headmaster, withdrew its resignation last night after a meeting with the Wanganui Education Board. A resolution that, in the opinion of the meeting, it was desirable that the site of the present residence be raised and that the new house should be epected thereon was moved by Mr. E. F . Herningway, Patea, chairman of the education board, and was seconded by Mr. G. Francis, Patea. The Education Department is to be advised to this effect. It was explained that the Minister of Education, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, had notified the board that the erection of the residence should not be deferred any longer and should proceed immediately on the site originally selected by the committee. In view of this agreement the school committee agreed to withdraw its resignation.
