WEDDING

LANGMAN— HODGES

Spring flowers arranged by friends of the bride decorated St. Andrew's Church, New Plymouth, on Thursday, August 22, for the wedding of Dorothea May, daughter of -Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hodges, "Ash Brae," Carrington Road, New Plymouth. and Norman, son of Mr. and the late Mrs. F. Langman, Pukenui Street, New Plymouth. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. D. McL. Wilson and Mr. Hay played wedding music. The bride, who was . escorted by her father, wore a trained gown of ivory satin and lace. The bodice was softly shirred to a narrow lace yoke and at the raised waist-line featured a double row of tiny satin buttons ^ from the V-neck to the waist. Lace insets and tiny buttons adorned the long sleeves from elbow to pointed wrist. The skirt was pleated from the knees and formed a long, fan-shaped train. Her veil of embroidered silk net lent by ner sister, Mrs. F. J. Proffitt, Koru, fell from a halo of orange blossoms to form a second and longer train. She cai*ried a _ shower bouquet of pink and white hyacinths and sweet peas, clematis, June roses and ferns. . . The bridesmaid was Miss Ethnie Hodges and Margaret Findlay was flower girl. They wore full skirted frocks of ripple chiffon over matching silk taffetas in salmon pink and nil green respective]y. Silk net shoulder veils were held in place by halos of multi-colourcd velvet j flowers. and they carried shower , bouquets to tone. They wore gold lockels and shoes. Mr. V. Hodges was bcst man and Messrs. A. J. Hodges, E. Proffit and G. Brightwell were ushers. At a reception at the Mon Deeir tea rooms the bride's mother was wearing a black and white pin-striped tailored coat, black hat with clover trimming and black fur. She wore , a shoulder spray of linaria, freesias and j maidenhair forn. j When Mr. and Mrs. N. Langman left for Auckland Mrs. Langman was wearing a braided vieux rose frock and hat and navy accessories. . j
