EX-WAITARA MAN'S WIN

The annual match for the Waimana cup on Saturday was contested by 18 ex-soldier members of the Feilding Golf Club. The contest was won by C. H. Tate, formerly of Waitara, with a nett score of 73. The history of the Waimana cup dates back to the Great War, when a group of Main Body men sailed overseas on the transport Waimana. The comitetition is essentially one in which only return ed men who sailed in that ship are eligible to compete.
