"Turnabout."
Hal Roach, who produced Tbome Smith's famous "Topper" series, has now fllmed this brilliant author's hilarious comedy "Turnabout." In this new production is seen a lovely newcomer to the screen. Carole Landis, who is costarred with John Hubbard, with Adolphe Menjou, William Gargan, Mary Astor and Donald Meek heading a brilliant cast of comedy players. The hilarious plot concerns the high jinks produced when Mrs. Willows and her husband change sexes. The svelte, shapely Miss Landis steps into her husband's oversized shoes and experiments with the problems faced by the male portion of humanity. Six-foot, broad-shouldered Hubbard becomes a fashionable society matron and flutters about at cocktail pnrties while his wife wears the pants— literally. After the hero and heroine change places and sexes, chaos and confusion ensue. The husband's 'business partners cannot understand the sudden feminity of their associate, who manages to cause all sorts of damage to the prestige of the firm and to lose it most of its valuable clientele. Back home, the same sort of thing happens, for the somewhat masculine looking lady is no match for the correct social life. How the picture winds up provides the story with a hilarious climax full of unexpected happenings and laugh-filled incidents.
