SURPRISE PARTY HELD

A surprise party was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Wright, New Plymouth, on Monday evening for Miss Joyce Blackhall on the occasion of her 21st birthday. About 40 friends assembled. Mrs. Elliott presented her with a bouquet given by Mrs. Horton. Mr. F. L. Frost, M.P.. proposed the toast of the gnest of honour after which Mr. S. Blackhall gave her a gold key that was autographcd by all prescnt. Speakers were Mr. Blackhall. senr., Mr. F. Robinson and Mr. A. Wright. Miss Blackhall suitahly rcplied. Mr. F. Robinson and Miss D. Wright played the piano. Items were given by Mrs. Robinson, Mr. Wright and Mr. Grundy.
