THE LONE WOLF AT WORK AGAIN.

VARIED OPERA HOUSE PROGRAMME Although unheralded by the reputation borne by "Super" films, the two stories on the Opera House, New Plymouth, programme that began on Saturday were excellent entertainment, amusing, interesting and well constructed. First was "Hot Steel," a romantic murder drama set in a big steel mill. The background of manufacturing operations was new to most and Richard Arlen, as a young scientist, Andv Devine as his good-natured expert steel-worker friend, Anne Nagel and Peggy Movan as the female interest, round off a pleasant but stirring presentation with good acting. The story. concerns the theft of a steel forniula and the identification of the murderer who stole it. The second attraction is Warren William. in another of the Lone Wolf series. Michael Lanyard, the Lone Wolf, and Jamieson, his vjilet, played by Eric Blore, in their whimsical way solve two murders, unravel a necklace mystery and help a pretty girl (Jean Muir) and her fiance out of an awkward situation. As in "Hot. Steel," there is plent of action and plenty of humour and in addition some neat but brief character studies by players in smaller roles.
