WAITOTARA BOWLING
CLUBS' ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Waitotara Bowling Club was held on. Thursday evening. when there was a good attendance. Two new members were elected and officers for the ensuing season are as follows: President: Mr. W. C. Simson; vice-president, Mr. H. J. Olsen; secretary and treasurer, Mr. I. D. Blackie: green supervisor. Mr. G. H. Alexander; delegate to centre. Mr. N. R. Wallace; hnndicapper and seleetor, Mr. I. O. Blackie; committee. Messrs. W. Watson. E. W. Lee. J. J. Armstrong, L. Munro and A. A. Vcrry. The annual report stated it was gratifying to nole a greatly improved standard in the play of members generally due, in great measure, to the improvement of the playing surface of the green, which came in for much favourable comment. Interchange of visits with Waverley and Rapanui Clubs and a visit from St. John's Club, added to the success of the season. The "Black and White buttons" comnetition again provided keenly fought
and interesting games. Winners were: Skips, I. D. Blackie: leads, A. A. Verry and H. ,J. Olsen equal: present holders, J. G. Verry and A. A. Verry. The singles championship for the Lints Cup and possession of the Haig button provided sui'prises but was uncompleted. The season saw the inauguration of the Handley banner matches between Rapanui, Waverley and Waitotara clubs. The club was indebted to members who had given their services in effecting improvements.
