FIVE MONTHS' WORKING SATISFACTORY RESULT "The total for the five months ending with the August reading is well up to the estimates," stated Mr. W. A. The audited balance-sheet was received without a tag, reported Mr. Sharp. An increase of 163.400 k.w., or 324 in the maximum demand was received during the month over August, 1939, stated the engineer, Mr. J. Lythgoe, there being a decrease of 11,900 in the number of units generated at the power station. Sixty-seven 33ft. concrete poles, 24 top blocks and 26 toe blocks had been manufactured at the pole yard, reported Mr. Lythgoe, together with 21 concrete posts which were made for use at the dam in connection with the . fish ladder protection. Of a total of 258 complaints received during the month, 143 were chargeable and 115 non-chargeable, Mr. Lythgoe reported. During the month the following work had been carried- out by the testers: 77 meters were renovated and test^d and 87 meters were installed in consumers' premises, together with two timeswitches, whilst 100 meters were removed and brought in for inspection and recalibration, he concluded.
