RED CROSS TESTS
EFFICIENCY AT MANAIA A high standard of efficiency was attained by the 15 successful candidates of the Manaia branch of the Red Cross Society in passing their first-aid examinations. A course of lectures was given at Kaponga by Dr. J. I. R. Gray and the practical work was demonstrated by Mr. A. Schicker, Hawera St. John Ambulance Brigade, and Mr. W. F. B. Wilton, Manaia. Dr. T. M. Fitzgerald, Hawera, set and examined the written section of the ex"amination and the oral and practical portion was conducted by two members of the Hawera St. John Ambulance Brigade. The successful candidates were: Mesdames J. Christie, L. Young and W. F. Curran, Misses E. Sutton, M. Anton, N. Hornby, J. Power, O. Parry, E. Parry, M. Chong, M. Chisnall, E. Mackay, J. Walker, B. Yarrow and D. Budd.
