Mrs. Haswell, Waitara, is the guest of Mrs. J. B. Brown. Miss Glenyss Fountaine is spending the week-end at New Plymouth. Mrs. J. R. M. Stewart entertained friends at tea on Wednesday afternoon. Those present were Mesdames F. Willan, A. Best, H. V. Marshall, C. Rush, J. Sulzberger, D. Rush, A. Willan, R. Rush, M. Sheehy, Brooke-Taylor, G. Rush and Miss K. Best. Misses Chalmers and Osborne have returned from a holiday at Auckland. Mrs. C. C. Stanners has returned from New Plymouth. Mrs. A. Craig has returned from a holiday at Napier. Miss Mary Tarrant is on holiday at Christchurch. Mrs. J. Blakeley has returned from Te Aroha. Miss Margaret Peebles will return from Wellington to-day.
