ROAD TO SINGAPORE."
OPENING AT PLAZA TO-DAY. A sparkling potpourri of popular new melodies from Bing Crosby, Dorothy Lamour and Bob Hope, is a feature of "Road to Singapore," which will open at the Plaza Theatre. Stratford, to-day at 1.30 and 8 p.m. Once agam Paramount has called upon that ace writing team, Johnny Burke and James V. Monaco, to write a goodly portion of the tunes. Their work for this picture includes "Too Romantic," a number which has already been aired many times. "Sweet Potato Piper." a swingy novelty tune. and "Kaigoon." the number to which Le Roy Prinz's dancing girls perform. "Road to Singapore" finds Bing and Bob singing their merry way to the South Seas to get away from the girls. However, they run smack into Dorothy Lamour and fall in love with her. There is a bright and varied supporting programme.
