GOOD RACE AT AVONDALE
The effort of Beau Repaire in filling second place in the Avondale Cup when making his first appearance for. some months augurs well for his prospects this season. The race is sure to have benefited him and he is likely to be one of the early fancies for the Mitchelson Cup at Ellerslie next month. Beau Repaire, who is a half-brother by Beau Pere to Royal Chief, created a big impression when he won on the second day of the Wellington Racing Club's centennial meeting last January, but soreness prevented him' from showing his best during the autumn.
