MANAIA GIVES £300

TARANAKI SPITFIRE FUND Manaia's promised contribution of £300 to the Taranaki Spitfire fund was paid in at Hawera yesterday, bringing the Hawera total to almost £800 and the Taranaki total to £2922. Another gift yesterday was £3 3s from the sergeants mess at the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Bell Block. The New Plymouth patriotic committee undertook to assist the mess with a wireless set and provided one. The sergeants had already collected £3 3s among themselves and accordingly have paid it over to the fund. District totals yesterday were:
