CHRISTMAS PARCELS
•TARANAKI ALLOCATION Taranaki is requir«d to supply 1840 narcels under the New Zealand scheme for sending parcels of Ghristrnas comforts to soldiei's overseas. -Quotas for the districts within the province ■ have been allotted as follows: New Plymouth 650 parcels, Hawera 400, Stratford 260, Opunake 140, Eltham 140, Patea 130, Inglewood 130. Ko allocation has been made for Waitara, but the Mayor of New Plymouth, Mr. E. R. C. Gilmour, who is chairman of the provincial patriotic council, said that he; expected Waitara would require ari allocation of at least 100 parcels and the- position would be met, he thought, by, a slight reduction of the quota allotted to each of the other districts. Mr. Gilmour has received a , donation of," £3. towards the soldiers' Christmas comforts fimd frorri the Whitely Church women^s -patriotic circle.
