Mrs. S. Hanton is the guest of her mother, Mrs. G. Alexander. Mrs. Nichol, Ashburton, is visiting Waverley as the guest of her sister, Mrs. P. V. Graves. Mrs. Randalf, Auckland, and Mrs. Thompson, Utiku, were the guests of Mrs. Deadman recently. Mrs. H. Hansen, Wanganui, is spending a week's. holiday at Waverley. Nurse K. Sims, of the New Plymouth public hospital, is the guest of Mrs. Coster. Nurse M. O'Reilly, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. C. O'Reilly, Ngutuwera, has returned to the Palmerston North hospital. Mrs. S. Besley has been on holiday in Hawkes Bay. Mrs. Evans, Wellington, is visiting Waverley as the guest of her daughter, Mrs. F. Bilton. Visitors to Waverley as guests of Mrs. J. A. Alexander for the Deadman-An-derson wedding were Mesdames Groves, S. Severnsen (Dannevirke), Corkill (New Plymouth), Chas. Schrieber (Inglewood), Gilchrist, E. Gibbs and Miss D. Gibbs (Utiku), Mrs. W. T. Doak and Miss S. Doak (Dannevirke). Mah Jongg Party Held. Mrs. P. V. Graves was wearing a black self-patterned cloque frock on Tuesday evening when she entertained at mah jongg, Mrs. J. T. Palmer proving the winner. Big bowls of spring flowers decorated the sitting room. Those present were Mesdames Graves, Nichol (Ashburton), H. P. Metcalfe, F. Sheppard, J. T. Palmer, Misses E. McArthur, J. Lupton, J. Sheppard and J. Bilton. Waverley Play Reading Circle. Bowls of spring bulbs decorated Mrs. A. Morrison's sitting room on Tuesday afternoon, when the Waverley women's afternoon play reading circle met for their fortnightly reading. The play was "Middle Watch," by Ian Hay. Those reading were Mesdames A. Morrison, P. V. Graves, H. P. Mitcalfe, F. Sheppard, W. Mathews, A. Elmslie, S. Hanton, G. Alexander and Miss E. McArthur. Others present were Mesdames J. P. Stewart, J. Morrison, C. Camp and Miss J. Sheppard.
