1940's BRIGHT FILM AT PLAZA. "Broadway Melody of 1940," Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's music and dance film, with Fred Mtaire and Eleanor Powell, .will be shown finally at the Plaza Theatre, Stratford, to-day at 1.30 and 8 p.m. A sparkling potpourri of popular new melodies from Bing Crosby, Dorothy Lamour and Bob Hope, is a feature o£ "Road to Singapore," which will open at the Plaza Theatre, Stratford, to-mor-row at 1.30 and 8 p.m. Once again Paraixiout'i has called upon that ace writing team, Johnny Burke and James V. Monaco, to write a goodly portion of the tunes. Their work for this picture includes "Too Romantic," a number which has already been aired many times. "Sweet Potato Piper," a swingy novelty ture, and "Kaigoon," the number to which Le Roy Prinz's dancing girls perform. "Road to Singapore" finds Bing and Bob singing their merry way to the South Seas to get away from the girls. However, they run smack into Dorothy Lamour and f all in love with her.
