Effect of Calf Pool. An effect of the pool system of marketing bobby calves is being felt by the business community in Central Taranaki, according to some Stratford drapers. Under the old system, farmers were paid with postal notes, and these usually found their way into the handbag: of the farmers' wives and thence to th ti 11s of drapery and clothing establishments. Under the pool system, however the farmer received his payment in i eheque at the end of the month, or els has it credited to him through his factorv, thereby diverting the money inti different channels.
