SPITFIRE FUND DANCE

EAST TARANAKI EFFORT A dance arranged by the Whanga-momona-Kohuratahi branch of the W.D.F.U. was held in the Oddfellows' hall. Whangamomona. Mr. G. Law was master of ceremonies, and Mrs, Stark supplied the music. Winners of novalty dances were: Statue valeta, Miss A. Law and Mr. K. Bacon; Monte Carlo waltz, Mr. and Mrs. E. Jennings. Two competitions were drawn during the evening, winners being: Cake, Mr. Scott; doll and bassinette, Betty Slade, Tahora. Supper arrangements were in the hands of Mesdames L. Mora, Brookes. Wiltshire, Anderson and Tichener and Messrs. L. Mora and G. Partridge. The local president of the W.D.F.U., Mrs. C. McCutchan, thanked all who assisted in making the Spitfire effort a success, especially those who donated prizes for competitions.
