PERSONAL

Mr. A. Faine, secretary of the Taranaki sub-centre of the Amateur Athletic Association, was farewelled on Wednesday night by the centre at a gathering at Stratford. Mr. Faine, who has been secretary for two years, is to go into camp soon. The presentation of a leather "hold-all" and hairbrushes was made by the president of the centre, Mr. A. G. Whiting, who pralsed the efficient service given by Mr. Faine as secretary and referred to Mr. Faine's fine personal qualities. Other speakers were Messrs. H. A. Heslop, L. J. Furrie and L. Nees.
