DIETITIAN APPOINTED

new plymouth hospital Miss E. M. Couston, at present on the staff of Lewisham hospital, Christchurch, was appointed yesterday as dietitian at the New Plymouth hospital, to commence duty on January 1, 1941. Miss Couston obtained her diploma in home science at the University of Otago in 1932, in which year she left for England to commence training at the Royal Northern hospital. On completing the six months' course, she continued for a further six months at St. Bartholomew's hospital. Later, she secured an appointment as assistant dietitian at the Royal Northern hospital and was finally appointed head dietitian. Shortly afterwards she was asked to retum to New Zealand and came to Lewisham hospital, where she has been since January, 1937.
