'' LADY GALWAY GUILD
Wellington, Sept. 16. Lady Galway has received a letter from Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand, saying that he had been askqd, on behalf of His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom, to convey thraugh her to the members of her committee and all helpers an expression of the warmest th&nks for the generous gifts of clothing, etc., for refugees, which were being sent to England by the guild. The work done by so large a number of willing workers was most warmly appreciated and was one more evidence of the desire on the part of the people of New Zealand to play their part in the common war effort.
