MEREMERE DISTRICT

There was a good attendance at a euchre party and dance held in the Meremere hall in aid of patriotic funds. The winners of euchre were Mrs. J. Bennett and Mr. J. Galbraith. Dancing was enjoyed to music by Messrs. S. Geary, J. Bloor and J. Galbraith. During the evening Miss Faye Walker, Hawera, sang. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr. A. Dunlop and Miss Hollinshead, Hawera. A competition for a gift by Mrs. R. Hill was won by Mr. A. E. Williams. Ladles' Guild. The Meremere Women's Guild met at the home of Mrs. W. Dunlop snr. There was a good attendance. Hostesses were Mesdames Dunlop and Dowden. The winners of flag five hundred at Meremere were Messrs. R. Palmer and C. Jacobs and Mrs. Jacobs and Miss V . Bloor. A Monte Carlo was won by Mr. R. Palmer and Miss McNaught.
