CHANGEABLE WEATHER

By Telegraph—Press Association

Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be unsettled in eastern districts between East Cape and Banks Peninsula with rain at times. It will be changeable and showery over the remainder of the North Island and Southland, elsewhere fair to fine. There will be cold temperatures with snow on the ranges in the North Island and hard frosts in the Southern half of the South Island. - Winds from a southerly quarter will predominate, fresh to strong about and north of Cook Strait, and elsewhere mainly moderate. A vigorous depression is centred over the Gisborne district and is moving slowly towards the east. An anti-cyclone covers south-eastern Australia and the north Tasman. Seas will be moderate south of Farewell Spit and Akaroa and inshore on North-east Cape, but elsewhere rough.
