SPRING MEETING ENDED ERNDALE PROMINENT

Auckland, Last Night. The Avondale Jockey Club's spring meeting concluded in overcast and rainy .weather which later improved, the track cutting out. The attendance was fair. The totalisator for the day handlei. £42,258 10s, against £37.226 on the same day last yar, an increase of £5032 10s. For the meeting £107,110 10s was handled, aeainst £86,701 10s last year, an increase of £20,409. After an inquiry by the judic.al committee it was stated that the rider of Our Jean in the Plumpton Handicap, McTavish, had made an error of judgment in not improving his position between the six furlong post and the turn into the straight and it was the opinion of the committee that he be cautioned.
