taranaki breeders ENTERPRISIN G PURCHASE The enterprise of two New Plymouth breeders in purchasing the two highest priced offerings at the sale of Jeisey bulls imported from America held recently at Auckland was referred to by the president, Mr. D. B. Ballantyne, at the meeting of the New Plymouth Jersey i Cattle Club on Friday, when members I extended congratulations to Mr. Truby King and Messrs. A. G. Colson and Sons, who paid joint top price. 450gns each. foi sons of the famous sire Franchise Wonderful Aim, who is now somswhere in England. Mr. Ti-r'by King purchased the yearling Golden Frances Arm, and Messrs. Colson and Son the rising two-year-old Muriel's Dreaming Royalist. Since they have arrived in Taranaki both have been inspected by numerous Jersey breeders, who are enthusiastic in their praise. A few days after its arrival Muriel s Dreaming Royalist caused its owners jome anxiety, having some dietetic trouble, but it has now made a good recovery. Mr. Truby King was also congratulated. on having bred Keeper's Marquis and Belle's Pioneer, the two bulls that were placed grade champion and reserve grade ehampion at the national sale and show held at Hamilton this week. Mr. D. O'Sullivan, Inglewood, was also congratulated on having secured first : place in the three-year-old bull class , with Mentone Dreaming Sultan, which when put up to auction realised 105gns, the purchaser being J. Hoskings, Gis- j borne. i Mr. E. J. Clough, Inglewood, the only other Taranaki vendor at the sale, secured 82Jgns for the bull, Pinecrest Royal Sovereign, the purchaser being J. D. Alack, Tauranga.
