TWO FINGERS LOST

CIRCULAR SAW MISHAP Both middle fingers from his right hand were lost by Mr. Keith Thomson as a result of a circular saw accident at New Plymouth on Saturday morning. He was taken to the New Plymouth hospital, where he is likely to remain for some time to recover from the operation it was necessary to perform. The accident happened in the Ariki Street wood and coal yards of W. W. Thomson and Sons. With the yardman suffering from influenza, Mr. K. Thomson temporarily took over the work of sawing wood. What happened exactly is not known, but it is thought one of the logs rolled awkwardly when about to be cut in two with the result that Mr. Thomson'® hand slipped.
