WEDDING

REID — V OSPER On the morning of August 31 Gladys, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Vosper, Putaruru, was married to Richard George, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Reid, Tirau. The Rev. J. W. Oxbrow officiated at St. John's Methodist church, Putaruru. Miss Evelyn Hall played wedding music. Escorted by her father, the bride entered the church wearing a frock of shell-pink embossed satin. The simple bodice was set off by a heart-shaped neckline, with pleated collar and upstanding puffed long sleeves which ended in a point over the hands. From a wide basque the full skirt fell in graceful folds to reveal pink satin sandals. Her embroidered pink tulle veil was secured with a halo of pink-shaded orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of hyacinths, heath and maidenhair fern to tone with her frock. Miss Ruth Musker, Uruti, was bridesmaid, Nancye Vosper, Matamata, was flower girl, and Howard Vosper, New Plymouth, nephew of the bride, page boy. The bridesmaid's frock was of mauve chiffon over matching taffetas. The ruched bodice was finished off with bows and sash of deeper toned velvet ribbon and puffed sleeves. A topknot of the same toned flowers, finished off with a shoulder length veil of a paler shade, adorned her hair. Golden sandals and a bouquet of spring bulbs, violets and fern completed the ensemble. The flower girl wore mauve chiffon in a period design. The puffed sleeves and high ruched waistline and full-length skirt were finished off with gold ribbon. Her head band was of pleated mauve tulle with touches of gold and she carried a posy of spring flowers. The bride and maids wore necklaces, presents from the bridegroom. Mr. C. Vosper was best man and Messrs. H. Vosper and A. Morris were ushers. To receive her guests at a reception Mrs. Vosper wore a three-quarter length costume of teal shaded tweed with crcam satin blouse. Her hat was of navy with net trimming and she wore a fur stole and navy accessories and carried a bouquet of violets, lachanalias and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom's mother wore a coat of grey cloth over a salmon-toned floral frock and her hat was of grey felt

trimmed in salmon. She wore matching accessories and carried a bouquet of spring flowers and maidenhair fern. Mrs. R. C. Vosper, NeW Plymouth, sang "My Prayer" during the signing of the register. She also sang "Bless This House" and "Salaam." When she left on her honeymoon Mrs. R. G. Reid was wearing a frock of cedar green- trimmed with gold, with coat and hat of American salmon trimmed with brown. She wore a brown stole and matching accessories. 'Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Reid will live at Tirau.
