NEW PLYMOUTH

Mrs. J. D. Anderson returned to Wellington yesterday after spending the week-end at New Plymouth with her mother-in-law, Mrs. ,T. P. Anderson. Mrs. Wilson Handley will return to Wanganui to-day aftcr spending several weeks at New Plymouth. Mrs. P. L. Stcphenson has arrived from Hawera to stay with Mrs. G. H. Stephenson. Mrs. McCarty, Wellington, formerly of Patea, is visiting New Plymouth and is staying with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Johnston McCarty. Mrs. I. Dineen left New Plymouth on ! Saturday for her future home at Mahoe- I Mrs. Austin Bewley has returned from Hawera, where she visited Mrs. David Hetherington. Knox Ladies' Guilcl. The members of Knox Church Ladies Guild held a successful social afternoon on Wednesday, when Mrs. J. W. Lankshear spoke on floral work and judged the floral exhibits done by the guild members. Brisk business at the bring-and-buy stalls and a collection resulted in a satisfactory sum being raised. The musical programme comprised pianoforte solos by Miss Jack and songs by Mrs. McCrone and Miss McNeill. Accompaniments were played by Miss Jack. Afteinoon tea was served by guild members.
