FAREWELL AT OPUNAKE
Friends of Mr. D. R. Watt, who is a meniber of the Taranaki draft for the l'ourth reinforcements, were entertained at a social evening organised by Opunake Motors, with which firm Mr. Watt has been associated as accountant for six years. Dance orchestras with which Mr. Watt had been connected assisted. Another employee of the firm, Mr. L. G. Canipbell, was also farewelled before his entry into camp. Mr. R. A. Ritchie. resident manager. referred to Mr. Watt's service to the firm, and to his popularity among the community. Mr. A. J. Brennan also spoke. Mr. L. R. Curtis, principal of the firm, -made the presentation of a
travelling rug, and conveyed best wishes to Mr. Watt. A posy was presented to Mrs. T. N. Watt by Mrs. Ritchie. During the evening items were rendered by Mrs. D. Coltart (violin), Mr. C. M. Bathgate (vocal) and Mr. W. G. Crisp (saxaphone). Pianoforte accompaniments were played by Mrs. Watt and Mr. W. D. Richards.
