WEDDING

REID— KUMEROA Parikino pa was recently the scene of the wedding of Kitty, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Reid, to Joe, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Kumeroa, Parikino. The service was held in the meeting house, the Rev. M. Tauroa, Auroa, officiating. The bride, whp was escorted by Mr. L. Goodyer, wore a trained gown of slipper length ivory satin, cut on modern flowing lines, a feature being the fitting bodice, with yoke of fine net faggoting forming a dainty heart-shaped neckline, finished with a pearl ornament. The f ull skirt flared gracefully from the waist to form a train, revealing matching satin shoes. Held in place with a halo of orange blossom, the bridal veil of silkembroidered illusion tulle cascaded in soft folds to form a second train and a shower bouquet of white roses and maidenhair fern was carried. Misses Edna Sole, Hawera, and Ivy Rongonui, Normanby, were bridesmaids, the former wearing a slipper-length gown of rose du Barry marquisette, daintily trimmed with powder blue lovers' knots, the square decolletage and matching bolero-coatee being finished with fine self-toned pleating. The latter was frocked in a slightly paler tone, her slipper-length satin gown being cut with , a square neckline and finished with selftoning bows. Both maids wore embroidered veils caught to their heads with p'rk gardenias and each carried bouquets of pink tinted roses and maidenhair fern. Two flower-girls, frocked alike in delphinium blue satin, were Joy and Betty Rangiwahia, Taiporohenui. With their ankle-length gowns, each little girl wore matching wreaths of flowers in her hair, and greenstone emblems (tiki and pendant respectively). Baskets of pink roses were carried. Mr. James Kumeroa was best man and Mr. W. Ratana was groomsman. Following the ceremony Mrs. Reid received about 120 guests, who were entertained at a wedding feast held in a marquee in the grouixds of tlje Parikino pa.
