PERSONAL
Writer E. G. Barnes, H.M.S. Philomel, is staying with his parents, Captain and Mrs. W. E. Barnes, Patea. Mr. G. H. Bell, Oakura, left yesterday on a visit to Palmerston North and Wellington. Sympathy with Mr. G. Gibson, Rahotu, in his illness was expressed yesterday by the New Plymouth Harbour Board, of which he is a member. Sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. Arthur Barnett, secretary of the Harbour Boards Association and superintendent of the port of Wellington, was expressed by the New Plymouth Harbour Bogrd yesterday. Sympathy was also expressed with the association and the Wellington Harbour Board. A visit to the East Coast will be made next week by the Prime Minister, Ihe Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, 'who will leave Wellington for Gisborne either on Monday afternoon or early on Tuesday morning. He is due to arrive at Gisborne on Tuesday afternoon and will remain there till Thursday morning. His principal engagement will be the official opening of the new intermediate school, which is already in occupation. Before returning to Wellington about the end of the week the Prime Minister will open another new school at Wairoa.
