“THE MAN IN THE IRON MASK.”

A. DUMAS' STORY AT PLAZA. Filmed around the famous story by Alexandre Dumas, "The Man in the Iron Mask," with Louis Hayward, Joan Bennett, Warren William, Alan Hale and Miles Mander in the leading roles, will commence a season at the Plaza Theatre, Stratford, to-day at 1.30 and 8 p.m. Given a story with the "Three Musketeers" atmosphere that Alexandre Dumas created for France, and given a d'.ial role of king and substitute king beautifully played by a romantic actor of the capacity of Louis Hayward, and all the materials are present for a delightful picture, with appeal to all tastes. Such a picture is "The Man in the Iron Mask"— a stirring story of love, war, sword-play, kingly abnormalities, treachery and galloping fights on the French highways. The story is that of twin sons of royalty, one destined for kingship, the other for a commoner's life under the care of the famous Musketeers. When they are of age the king finds out the relationship, and his resort to the terrible iron mask fol'.ows a fear that he will be detnroned. The pre-interval programme includes "Unusual Occupations," a colour classic, the special Plaza air mail news service, featuring the latest releases from the seat of war, a March of Time featurette, "Metropolis," which is a scenic trip through and around New York.
