The output of the Waitotara Lime Company Ltd last year showed an increase of 77 per cent., the profits exceeding £1000. Married in Kenya. Untroubled by the war-clouds gathered over East Africa, a Stratford girl was recently married at Kisumu, Kenya Colony, East Africa. Patriotic Funds. Objection to any outside interference in the disbursing of patriotic funds was voiced at the New Plymouth patriotic committee last night. Show Abandoned. The annual show of the Wanganui A. and P. Association has been abandoned because the show grounds are required for military purposes. Waverley Site Confirmed. After an inspection by officers of the Taranaki Regiment a proposal to use the Waverley racecourse as the camp site for the regiment was adopted. Record Experts. Record exports have already been handled at the port of New Plymouth this year, though there is another month to the end of the harbour board's financial year. Emergency Precautions at Hawera. Help for the fire brigade in the event of an emergency was proffered by 30 young men at Hawera who are to receive suitable training under the emergency precautions scheme. Waitara Bill Opposed. Opposition to the Bill promoted by the Waitara Borough Council for the amalgamation of the New Plymouth and Waitara harbour district was expressed by the New Plymouth Harbour Board yesterday.
