PERSONAL
Appreciation of the services given by Mr. C. J. Roberts, who had for some years been the representative of the Hawera Star at council meetings, was expressed at yesterday's meeting of the Hawera County Council by the chairman, Cr. J. B. Murdoch. Sympathy with Mr. L. Preece, Matapu, in his illness, and with Mr. J. B. Congreve, Wanganui, in the illness of his wife was expressed at the annual meeting of shareholders of the Waitotara Lime Co. at Hawera yesterday. Lieutenant W. Moffitt is visiting Waverley.
