TO BE ABANDONED

WANGANUI SUMMER SHOW The abandonment of the Wanganui Agricultural and Pastoral Association's annual summer show has been caused by the military authorities having acquired the show grounds for a permanent camp, according to the secretary, Mr. A. R. Donaldson, who was interviewed by a representative of the Daily News. The association had gone to some expense in preparation for its show when it became known that the grounds would be required for military purposes, and efforts were made to hold a show on a reduced scale at Spriggins Park, where it was suggested that a horse fair, dog show and side-show alley should be held in addition to classes for national dancing. The schedule was published when advice was received that the army authorities required the park also.
