MISHAP TO OAONUI CHILD
A tragedy was narrowly averted recently when a little girl, the youngest 1 child oi Mr. T. Yeates, Oaonui, ran in ■ front of a motor-«ar driven by Mr. T. • A. Bosworth, Oaonui. Mr. Bosworth had ' just delivered goods to the house and ; had only travelled a few yards slowly when the child's mother called out. Mr. Bosworth stopped immediately and the child was picked up by its mother from l between the front and back wheels of the car little the worse for the experience except for a bruised axm, although it was thought a small bone in the arm might have been broken. X-ray examination at New Plymouth hospital disclosed a bad, braise. Personal. Mrs. S. Ross, Puniho, who has been visiting Mrs. C. Pentelow, has returned home. . . Mr. Hugh Dalton, who has ]oined the air force, has left for : the .training school at Levin. _ ■ Mrs. Gilbert, Witiora Road, is spending a holiday at Palmerston North. Mrs. Gardner snr. is a patient in the New Plymouth hospital. Mrs. McQuaig snr. is visiting Mr. and Mrs. M. McQuaig, Kina Road.
