WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

Kaponga; Mesdames R. A. Grace and P. H. Harding were hostesses at the September meeting. The president, Mrs. C. H. Brewer, was in the chair. Donations of £1 to the Makogai leper appeal and £2 10s to headquarters for the war purposes appeal of the New Zealand Women's Institute were made. A seat in the women's rest room is to be erected.

A bring. and buy stall realised £1 6s. Competitions were: Vase of flowers, Mrs. W. H. Ritter 1, Mrs. E. W. Snowdon 2; best bloom, Mrs. E. W. Snowdon;, travelling shilling, Mrs. F. Albon; jumbled fruit competition, Mrs. A. E. Jackson.
