NEW PLYMOUTH
Mrs. R. W. Stevens returned to New Plymouth on Tuesday from a holiday at Blenheim. Mrs. C. R. E. Partridge and Mrs. H. N. Rowe were hostesses on Tuesday night at a bridge and mah jongg evening in aid of funds for their stall at the forthcoming spring fair of the Holy Trinity Church. The weekly afternoon of the patriotic bridge circle was held on Monday, when Mesdames E. Cawthray and R. Gowen were the hostesses: A competition was won by Mrs. Josephs. Miss Nola Barr, Rahotu, recently spent a week-end with Miss Maisie Volzke, New Plymouth. Mrs. E. W. Goodall is visiting Palmerston North as the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Rhodes-Robinson. Mrs. H. Ellis has returned to Napier after spending a holiday with her daughter, Mrs. Mervyn Lobb. Miss Marjorie Couper will arrive- today from Havelock North to spend a holiday with Mrs. D. K. Morrison. Mrs. H. G. Skeet has left for Hastings, where she will spend a holiday with her daughter, Mrs. R. Nelson.
