STATE THEATRE TO-MORROW.
SANDY POWELL "ALL AT SEA." Screening finally to-day at the State Theatre, New Plymouth, is an actionpacked drama of the West, "Viva Cisco Kid," starring Cesar Romero and Jean Rogers. In addition is G.B.D.'s comedydrama "What Would You Do, Chums? featuring S\'d Walker and Jean Gillie. Sandy Powell's funniest film to date is his latest G.B.D. comedy hit, "All at Sea," which will begin to-morrow at the State Theatre, and in which the famous comedian plays the role of a seaman in the Royal Navy. Sandy appears as A.B. Skipton, who wages a lone fight against a pair of enemy agents who are trying to steal a secret new high explosive. Sandy takes the explosive away with him when he is sacked from a chemical factory where he is employed as a messenger, joins the navy, and is sent to the Mediterranean. The crooks chase after him, and then ensues a series of hilarious thriils in which first Sandy and then the crooks obtain possession of the explosive, and although they threaten to blow up the ship, Sandy triumphs in a series of riotous situations. "All at Sea" was produced with the full co-operation : -:ial facilities during the making of of the British Admiralty, who granted the picture, and thus many new and magnificent scenes of the fleet have been incorporated, while Sandy Powell introduces one of the first great naval wartime songs, "Oh, Ain't it Grand to be in tht Navy.1' Supporting Sandy Powell are Kay W?lsh, John Warwick, Gus McNaughton and Leslie Perrins. There is an excellent supporting programme. Box plans are at Gilmour's, land and estate agents.
