PLUNKET ACTIVITIES

new plymouth beanch At. the monthly committee meeting of the New Plymouth branch of the Plunket Society Mrs. W. Middleton presided. Delegates from the Inglewood subbranch were present. Nurse Petersen reported that there were 30 new babies on the books for the month at New Plymouth and 12 from the outstations. Altogether 680 babies had received attention at the rooms and 111 older children. Attacks of a form of gastric influenza had been prevalent among children at New Plymouth this month, but all were making good progress. Mrs. Middleton reported that Mrs. Walter Weston and Mrs. Franklin White had accompanied her to the opening of the new rooms at Inglewood, and she congratulated the sub-branch on their successful function. The new rooms were everything that could be desired and she was sure that they would be appreciated. Final arrangements were made in connection with the annual egg drive, and plans were discussed for Baby Day. The gas company had offered the use of their premises for one week before Baby Day and a vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Kennedy for the cffer. It was reported that Miss Dorothy Cock had offered to give items at the children's fancy dress party. Nurse Petersen's resignation was received with regret by all.
