Mrs. A. Nickel, Otakeho, is in a private hospital. Mrs. K. Latham has returned to_ Douglas after spending a fortnight with her mother, Mrs. E. M. Rowland. Bridge Party. A bridge party was given by Mrs. R. R. Henderson and Mrs. R. Lee at the home of the former on Monday evening, the proceeds being for the funds of the forthcoming St. Mary's flower show and bazaar. Mixed spring blooms decorated the reception rooms. Mrs. Henderson chose a frock of floral design in white, deep blue and coral tones, while. Mrs. Lee wore a flat crepe gown in the new spice tone, with embossed .velvet coatee. Twelve tables were in use. The highest score was obtained by Mrs. P. O. Veale and the hidden number by Mrs. N. L. Flowering currant and pastel pink rhododendrons were used to decorate the lounge of the women's club for the bridge circle's meeting organised by Mrs. P. O. Veale and Mrs. W. J. B. Hunter. The former wore Persian iris jersey sheer with touches of gold and Mrs. Hunter's choice was a crinkle crepe in rose tone, with silver lame for relief. Nine tables were in play, the winners being Mesdames A. M. Winks (highest score) and W P. McAnerin (hidden number) . Mrs. M. M. Thomson, actingpresident, made a presentation to a departing member, Miss Sylvia Davy. Miss I. M. Glenn, for the play-reading circle, and Mrs. A. M. Winks, for the mah jongg circle. also spoke of Miss Davy's loss to the club owing to her long stay at Wellington. Among those present were Mesdames M. M. Thomson, Moorhouse, A. M. Winks. W. W.
