Official figures reveal that 592 persons were killed and about 2700 injured in the first two nights of intensified air raids on London, More Intense Bombing Threatened. German newspapers, threatening more intense bombing, declare that London s West End may be attacked if British raids continue over Germany. America Aids Stricken. Immediate purchase of 12 mobile canteens, each of eight vehicles, to rush food to bombed areas has been ordered in London by the American Red Cross. Pacific Agreement. Future developments might make desirable a defensive agreement between Australia and the United States, said the chairman of the United States House of Representatives Foreign Relations Committee.
