ROUMANIAN PEASANTS
REVOLT AGAINST GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received April 9, 8.5 p.m. Suu Cable. Berlin, April 9. According to tlie Voesische Zeitung the National Peasants’ Party of Roumania has planned a revolt against the Government and threatens to proclaim an independent government at Karlstadt. The leader, M. Maniu, has summoned a party congress and it is expected that 306,000 peasants will send delegates and the resignation of the Prime Minister, M. Bratianu, will be demanded. The Government fears to forbid the congress because it would be necessary to use the army, which refuses to be employed for political purposes.
