POLICE FORCE FOR SAMOA

APPLICATIONS CALLED FOR. By Telegraph, —Press Association. Wellington, April 7. A statement was issued by the Prime Minister, the Hon J. G. Coates, yesterday, that a detachment of military police, consisting of 74 officers and men, under the command of Major P. HBell will be sent to Samoa to replace the’marines from H.M.S. Diomede. Applications for inclusion in the detachment will be called for and the men will leave Auckland by the Tutanekai on April 21, but will previously be given a week’s special training at Trentham.
