CARNIVAL AT CHRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. At the Easter swimming carnival last night three Olympic representatives, Kathleen Miller, D. P. Lindsay and L. J. Moorhouse, were present. Moorhouse attempted to lower his 100 metres backstroke record of linin 21 2-ssec, but fialed, his time being Imin 22 2-ssec. Miss Miller, covering 880 yards in 13min 54 3-'sscc, easily broke the existing record of 14mrn 28 2-ssec held by Miss V. Walrond (Auckland). Mis# Miller finished strongly.
