CLOSING iFI'NCTION DISCLOSED.The senior chib of the Y.W.C.A. met on Wednesday last, when a discussion was held upon the closing function of the club’s activities for this year. This will be held in the form of jU: Mock Banquet on Thursday, December 9i A toast list was planned, and those who helped in the ’Shakespearean entertainment invited as guests of the ; evening. The financial statement with reference to the entertainment of November 24 was read and received, showing", a credit balance of £l3 after x the exposes of Lail', publicity, carrier* etc., were paid. A vote of thanks wAs accorded ‘all those who had helped in any way to make the effort a success. The question of repeating the 1 entertainment, as was discussed, It was decided that it was impossible at this time of the year, but that those scenes suitable for production’ out of doors would be repeated at the Girl Citizens’ Garden Fair on Saturday, December 11. at Mrs.-Alexander’s, Young Street; while Mis§. .Clarke is planning; to have most of the items repeated at the Victoria League on Thursday, December 16. . ;j. . ; The repetition of .Thursday’s; musical recital at three o’clock this afternoon at St. Mary's Hall will no dpubt attract a further large- number of musiclovers, not only because* of the splendid programme by Miss Leatham and her associates, but because of the assistance it will render the District Nurse Committee in relieving cases of necessity. That many of Thursday night’s', audience will again attend is certain, but ir addition, it is hoped that feSv ’will niisH this opportunity of hearing music of such a high standard.
