AUSTRALIA AND AMERICA
METHOD OF REPRESENTATION. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 3, 9.55 p.m. New York, Dec. 3. In a speech made to-day by Sir Hugh Dcnneson, the Australian trade representative, before the New York State Chamber of Commerce, he said: "The same diplomatic relations that rule between America and other countries will probably, in the not distant future, exist between my country and yours ** This is interpreted as meaning that Australia will shortly ippoint a Minister Plenipotentiary in the United States, and has aroused nineh interest. Tie feeling is that while such an envoy would be enthusiastically received, there is little likelihood that the United States will reciprocate by sending a Minister to Australia. Official circles believe that the present consular representations are sufficient to handle American interests in Australia.
