BIG MEAT SCHEME. London, Nov. 12. The Manning scheme for the development of North-western Australia, and the shipment therefrom of chilled beef a- ' mutton has been revived by Sir Archibald Weigall, who is associated with Sir Henry Galway, both former Governors of South Australia, taking the chairmanship of a company which, it is believed, is substantially backed. It is estimated that the cost of the scheme will total £8,000,000, including £3,300,000 for the construction of a fleet, £1,000,000 for cold storage and wharfage in England, and £1,125,000 for milling and refrigerating works in Australia. An annual expenditure of £5,500,000 is contemplated.
